My 220 se has a 85 litre gas (lpg) tank, which works very good!
Why?
1. The trunk of a w111 Coupe is big enough to even look this tank look small. The range on LPG is much betterthen on fuel now. (how can they fit such a small tank ont his car????. I use about 1 litre per 6-7 km)
2. LPG costs here in Almelo,NL Hfl 0.80, so about 75 pf per litre. I fill the tank up for about Hfl 45, instead of HFl 140 !!!! And I even get further...
3. The gas is very good for the engine, it burns very clean and does NOT contaminate the engine oil, which you may observe on a 220 or 250 when you do a lot of cold starting of the engine.
4.LPG burns cleanerthen anything:The environment benefits! So everybody benefits when I drive my car!
So:If you are a member of Greapeace, you have to drive a W111. (I am a member, so I drive one)
I will make some digital pictures of my dual fuel system, so everybody cab have a look on how this works. Costs are about Hfl 2400 for a complete installation, with "TUV".
