...there is a slight possibility that you order parts in germany, and I had some parts deliviered this spring from VW RSA/Capetown to repair my '84 T3 Station Wagon... ! And only because Volkswagen could not supply properly here in it's Homeyard.
The world became small !

Greetings Flossenpfleger

Hello Uwe,
South Africa is where the hell I am! ;-) We have for a very a long time in South Africa been manufacturing AND assembling MB's and exporting them from here. True, many of the parts came from Germany but there was also a certain degree of local manufacture - normally the bigger heavier body parts etc.
Thanks for the advice on the spacers.
On the noise, everything seems sound and good - the car was gone over very thoroughly by a german workshop here specialising in restoration and repair of classic Mercedes with a good reputation so I expect nothing that compromises safety - just a bit of irritation factor but I do appreciate the advice and concern.
I'm going to think about those knobs. Somewhere a plan will be made! :-)
Grussen,

Clem

Hello Flossenpfleger,
Many thanks for the picture and data! I will definitely be looking for some of those rubber spacers. First I must measure the height difference on the two sides though to work out the correct thickness I need - quite easy to do.
Check out my other replies to Uwe. :-)
Cheers,

Clem
