Okay,in Germany we say it that way.
I don`t think the pulse generator ( its wat I called Ipuls switch, sorry) is your only Problem.
But try to clean it,it sits in the ignition distributor in the base.
Its part number is 000 158 00 12 or 000 158 01 19.
Clean with alcohol.
Then ceck the following parts with an ohm -meter.
1. Vacuum sensor betwen terminal 7 and 15 should be 90 Ohm, betwen 8 and 10 about 350 ohm.
2. ( Very important) trottle swich: when the trottle is closed there must be 0 ohm betwen terminal 12 and 17, if the trottle is opend just a little bit, there must be full ohm ( the german word is " unendlich" )
if not,you can adjust it,have a look, you can see how!
3 Temperatur sensor for air ( you find it in the air - intake to the filter)
unsrew, then check ohm betwen the terminals: about 300 ohm at 20 degrees Celsius, about 150 at 40 degrees. if not 0 or full, its in order.
4: temperatur sensor for water ( in front of engine ) about 2,5 kiloohm at 20 degrees, about 600 ohm at 60 degrees. 325 at 80 degrees.
5: fuel pressure :2 bar in the fuel hose on top of the engine if running.
6 : cold start injector. Is it closed if engine is warm. Have a look on it!
